Cycling Matthew Howitt: Athens 2004, Chris Hoy wins Gold

Chris Hoy's first Olympic Gold in the kilometre.

The three riders before him all broke the Olympic record and were recording the fastest ever times at sea level. He stepped up knowing he had to go faster than his personal best. No problem, Olympic gold in the fastest time ever at sea level in the kilo and the start of his career as Britain's most successful Olympian.
