Repeating his achievements in Moscow four years earlier, in the 1984 Olympics Seb Coe won the 1500 metres Gold medal and Silver in the 800 metres.
In retaining his Olympic title in 1984 Daley Thompson equalled the World record held by Jurgen Hingsen, who finished second, and became only the second athlete to win two Olympic Decathlons.
Kathy Cook won her 400 metres Bronze Medal in a time of 49.43 seconds, and a Bronze in the 4 x 100 metres Relay.
